Ismailia is the story of a triple friendship, which starts in the army during the Yom Kippur War and ends twenty-five years later in the living-room of a wealthy urban suburb of Israel.
The lives of Miki, the gynecologist, Ami the journalist, and Kritz (who is still looking for self discovery) continue to intertwine since the war. All events can be traced back to that war: their work, marriages, infidelities, as well as the promises of youth. However, during the evening in question, the knot is broken.
Old debts are brought to the surface, hidden hatreds are revealed, the infidelities see the light of day. The "sacred" Israeli army-friendship suddenly becomes, after all these years, an unbearable burden.
Ismailia was first produced in 2002 at the Beit Liesin Theatre and was the recipient of the Best Play Prize of that year.
